Highlights of 7WCC achievements and activities.

1995  Newly organized 7th Ward Citizen's Coalition elects Patricia Bowser as first President.

1997  Flavors from the 7th Ward cookbook published. First scholarship awarded to Frank E. Janesh.

1998  Member Denise Skowron appointed to Parks and Recreation.

1999  Committee formed to create Ipe Kids World. First spring dance held.

2002  7WCC and Northside Coalition partner to host Candidates Forum at Jewish Community Center.
Ipe Kids World opens.

2003  Bobby Ford represents 7WCC in the Soap Box Derby.

2004  Gerry Ricciutti and Dan Rivers pose questions at Candidates Forum. Gibson Heights BW celebrates 11 years; Lansingville BW reorganizes.

2008  Coalition forms South East Neighborhood Council; hires organizer. Landlords held accountable. Surveys vacant properties.

2009  Coalition Board brings by-law changes to membership. Rents office space for first time.

2010  Coalition receives grant, raises funds and installs historic neighborhood signage.

2011  7WCC enters float in Christmas parade, neighborhood groups help.

2012  $5,000 Wean Success Grant Awarded. 7WCC sponsors a board-up training on E. Avondale.

2013  Coalition changes logo to encompass neighborhood groups.

2014  $15,000 Youngstown Foundation Grant obtained for revitalization in Powerstown; agree to file court action regarding vacant property, if necessary.

2015  7WCC received Hines grant, creates Jackson Passive Park on former Jackson School property.

2016  Completed 1/4 mile walking trail with four benches at
Jackson Passive Park.

2017  Coordinated clean-up of Powers Cemetery with City Councilwoman Basia Adamczak; used grant money for sidewalks throughout areas of Powerstown.

2019  Installed flag pole at Jackson Park; used $500 grant from Baltimore Life Insurance to build shelters over three benches along the walking trail.

2020  Reached 25th year of service to the 7th Ward and its neighborhood groups while facing the challenges of surviving a global pandemic. Celebration postponed.

2021  Resumed in-person meetings at new location. Flavors from the Seventh Ward, Revisited published.
